submission guidelines
Theme: All film submissions must relate to the theme of mental health and wellness. The films can address any aspect of mental health, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, stress, self-care, and the importance of seeking help.
Length: The maximum length of the film should be no more than 7 minutes.
Format: All submissions must be in digital format, preferably in high-definition quality. Acceptable file formats include .mp4, .mov, or .avi.
Language: Films may be submitted in any language, but if the film is in a language other than English, it must have English subtitles.
Originality: All entries must be original works of the submitting student(s). Any work that infringes upon the rights of any third party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, or privacy rights, will be disqualified.
Content: Films must be appropriate for a high school audience and may not contain any material that is discriminatory, hateful, or offensive.
Submission Deadline: The deadline for submission is March 1, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Submission Process: All films must be submitted online through a designated platform (such as FilmFreeway or Google Drive). The submission must include a completed entry form, a film synopsis, and a brief statement explaining how the film relates to the theme of mental health and wellness.
Judging Criteria: Films will be judged based on their creativity, originality, technical quality, and adherence to the theme of mental health and wellness.
Public Screening: The winning films will be publicly screened at Palisades Charter High School and will be promoted on social media platforms.
Rights: By submitting a film to the festival, the student(s) grant permission for the festival organizers to use the film for promotional purposes.
Final Authority: The festival organizers reserve the right to make changes to these guidelines and to disqualify any film that does not comply with the rules or that is deemed inappropriate.
